AGE REQUIREMENT: For groups A, B, C, H, L, L1, and L2 drivers must be over 21 years of age. For any other vehicle group, min age of the driver must be 23.

• Please consider  that we do not check the age of the driver when we receive a booking. If you do not meet the age requirements on delivery, you will not be able to pick up the car and you will be asked to pay for the full amount of the rental fee.

• There is not any extra charge young or elder driver fee.

DRIVING LICENSE: All Drivers must hold a valid license for at least one year. National Driving Licenses issued in EU, US, UK, Switzerland, Australia, Canada, Israel, Russia, Ukraine are accepted. In all other cases an International Driving License is required.

DEPOSIT &PAYMENTS: The amount of the deposit varies according to the car group. All credit/debit cards are acceptable from Auto Moto Sport.

The deposit required to secure your booking is equal to at least 25% of the rental value.

Auto Moto Sport has absolutely no obligation to hold the requested car until the deposit is confirmed.

You should not consider that you have reserved a car unless we send you a written confirmation of your reservation.

The remaining balance of the rental is due and payable on your arrival preferable by cash , during the car hand-over.

BOOKINGS :

On line bookings starts from 3days and over.

PAYMENT METHODS:

Payments may be made by one of the following ways:

1) PayPal

2) Electronic bank transfer. For electronic transfer, we will notify you of our bank details separately.

3) Credit  Card. Our online card payments are handled by PayPal (you don’t need a PayPal account!).

4) Cash or credit card on delivery.

CAR DELIVERY & COLLECTION: We can deliver/collect vehicles from all airports, ports and selected hotels free of charge.

After-hours deliveries (22:00 – 07:00) are subject to a €20 charge payable on arrival. Returning the vehicle during those hours(22:00- 07:00) is free of charge.

INSURANCE: All authorized drivers of Auto Moto Sport  vehicles are covered against damages from Fire to the rented vehicle, and Liability Insurance to Third Party death, injury, and property. Both coverage’s are subject to General Terms of the Auto Moto Sport’s insurance contract with its Insurer.

COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (CDW-SCDW) WITHOUT  EXCESS  :

The renter is insured for the rental vehicle damaged by accident with no obligation to pay any excess, under the condition that the Greek Traffic Law is not violated. Crystals and the engine of the vehicle are also covered. Damages to the underside of the car, the wheels and the tyres is not covered by any insurance.

THEFT PROTECTION (TP): WITHOUT EXCESS :

The renter is insured in case the vehicle is stolen, except if theft occurs because of negligence. Any stolen belongings in the interior of the car (eg. cameras, travel bags or cell-phones) are not covered from the insurance.

PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE (PLI) The renter’s liability is covered to a maximum of €1.220.000 for death and bodily injuries and €1.220.000 for material damages.

PERSONAL ACCIDENT COVERAGE (PAC): Passengers of the rental vehicle are insured for death or bodily injuries in case of accident to a maximum of €1.220.000. Driver is insured to the amount of €15.000.

ADDITIONAL DRIVER:
 One additional driver can be registered without any extra charge. Maximum two drivers including the main driver are allowed on each rental.

FUEL POLICY:
Option 1: Return as Collected
The renter has to return the vehicle with the same level of petrol as delivered. Vehicles delivered during the night (out of office hours), have at least half tank of petrol filled. This will be enough to drive you anywhere in the island. In addition our representative will be willing to guide you to the nearest petrol station.

Option 2: Collect Full & Return Empty
The client has to pay locally for the initial tank of fuel. The car should then be returned with the tank as empty as possible, since there is no refund for unused fuel.

TRAFFIC TICKETS (FINES):
Traffic tickets and Administrative Fees resulting from any violation of the Greek Traffic law during rental period, is the renter’s responsibility. If  such an administrative sanction is not reported to the company during or by the end of the rental period the violation will be charged to the renter.

Key Loss:
 The customer is liable for all costs to replace keys which have been lost or damaged, also for  the cost of retrieval of keys which have been locked inside a vehicle.

BOOKING CANCELATION:

From the time that a booking has already been  confirmed, you can cancel your reservation by sending an e-mail  to inform us about it 2 days (48h) before the rental date .If you choose to cancel a partially prepaid reservation 48 hours prior to the rental pick up time, the prepaid amount for the booking will be refund.  Credits will be applied to the same card with which you prepaid.

Please note that the refund can take up to 5days, depending on the issuing bank of the credit/debit card.

If you do not cancel the reservation prior to the time of pick-up and the rental vehicle is not picked up on the rental date the reservation will considered as non-show and the deposit will not be refunded

BABY SEATS:

Available on request We offer 3 different types of child seats (Infant seat, Baby seat, Booster seat). One piece is offered Free of Charge. Each extra costs 2 € /day, payable on arrival.

No additional charges on flight delays
 All our employees are always informed for your arrival time, as well as last minute flight schedule changes that might occur. They will wait for your arrival flight in order to deliver you the booked vehicle.

Road Maps:

Upon delivery, you will get a recent map of Crete island free of charge.

GPS: Available on request with a daily charge of €5 per day .

We can provide a GPS Sat nav device (4.3″ screen) with the most recent map of Greece, with Latin character map, available in 17 languages.

FLEET AVAILABILITY: The Company reserves the right to provide a different car model to that originally reserved of an equivalent or higher model type

ONE WAY RENTALS: Applicable between Auto Moto Sport locations following a written authorization and a special charge agreement with Auto Moto Sport.

FERRY RESTRICTIONS: & ACROSS THE BORDER :

Ferrying the car to and from any island or mainland is not allowed. All insurances will be voided and the renter will be responsible for any damage caused if the vehicle is driven elsewhere than Crete Island. . Please note that any damage to the vehicle in transit will be not covered by any insurance.

ROAD ASSISTANCE:
 Roadside Assistance is available 24/7 and is free of charge. Our roadside assistance is Interamerican . Telephone: 1158 from Greece and +30 210 9461333 when calling from International mobile phones.

It is recommended to contact our office directly in the event of required roadside assistance. During out of office hours, all direct calls to our office are diverted to our emergency mobile phone line.

GRACE PERIOD & RENTAL EXTENTION:
If you have already picked up your vehicle and wish to keep it longer, you must contact our company and check if the car is available. We have the right to deny the extension of the rental if the car is already booked. If extension is possible, there is a Grace Period of one (1) hour (i.e first hour delay in return is not charged) provided that our company is notified and has given permission. Next 3 hours are charged at €10 per hour. Over 3 hours delay, one whole day rate will be charged. Please note that a customer is not allowed to bring the car later than the agreed return time without having taken permission (having extended the rental) from our company since there is not any insurance coverage after the agreed return time of the car.

ACCIDENT:

In unfortunate event of an accident, the renter must contact our company immediately in order to receive instructions on how to handle the situation. You are not allowed to leave the incident place without reporting the accident. If you cannot contact our company, you should contact directly the police. If the renter does not inform or fails to report our company about the incident then he is obliged to pay for repairing costs of any damage caused to the rental vehicle. If the driver or one of the passengers is injured you should also inform police/ambulance. If by any chance the other involved party leaves the accident place, take a photo or write down the plate number. We will also call our insurance partner and an accident report is required. It is prohibited to drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs and disobey traffic rules.

USE OF THE VEHICLE:

All insurance coverings are valid provided that the renter has complied with all terms & conditions. The renter is obliged to pay for repairing costs of any damage caused to the rental vehicle if the use of the car is not proper, as below:

The vehicle is driven on any non-asphalt road, dirt road or off-road (eg. Balos). The renter violates traffic rules (eg. road/STOP signs, speed limits, opposite driving on a one-way street, U-turns). The renter violates parking rules.

The renter ignores any accident or damage to the vehicle. The vehicle is operated in any race, speed test, rally or contest or the vehicle is used for the purpose of transfer persons or goods with  reward (taxi or courier service).

 The vehicle is driven by any disqualified person who doesn’t or never held a driver’s license appropriate for that vehicle or is not a registered driver in the rental agreement. The driver of the vehicle is under the influence of alcohol or any drug that affects his ability to drive the vehicle. The vehicle is operated outside of the hire or any agreed extension of that term. The vehicle is willfully or recklessly damaged by the renter (note: burning out a clutch, sitting/standing on the bonnet/boot/roof of the vehicle, damages to the vehicle interior).
